Jadee & Altar Call, the new sound of urban praise .... taking the nations by storm
Jadee & Altar Call, a multi Marlin Award winning gospel group from Trinidad & Tobago
are the new sound of urban praise taking the nations by storm. Their eclectic, multi-cultural
blend of contemporary Caribbean and urban American music styles have stirred up
excitement amongst Dj's from across the Caribbean, USA, Canada and the UK.
High energy, funky, spontaneous and exciting are some of the expressions that spring
to mind when encountering the ministry of Jadee & Altar Call for the first time. After just a
few moments listeners will experience the heart of ministry resonating in true unadulterated
worship.
In 2000 Jadee first emerged as a mainstream artist at the top of the International soca charts.
But as Jadee’s career advanced his personal life took a downward spiral. Money, fame,
alcohol, marijuana and women took its toll on the 23 year old celebrity. A year later, with the
support and prayers of close friends, family and his (then ex-girlfriend), Giselle (now wife),
Jadee experienced conviction and surrendered his life to Christ.
Today Jadee still retains that musical flare and energy that drives audiences, but now it’s
fuelled by his passion for God instead of money and fame. According to Jadee his ministry
is designed to “testify, teach, praise and worship God”.
Since 2001 Jadee has released six (6) gospel singles which made Top 10 radio hits in
Trinidad & Tobago. In three consecutive years, 2002, 2003 and 2004 Jadee snatched
Marlin awards amongst numerous other awards and acclaims. Jadee has also shared the
stage with an impressive selection of artists such as Toby Mac, CeCe Winans, Kirk
Franklin, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Sherwin Gardener, Carlene Davis and Papa San to name
just a few.
In 2009 Jadee & Altar Call will release their fourth project, prophetically entitled “Lord of the Suddenly”. True to Jadee’s eclectic style, “Lord Of the Suddenly” promises to be a
complementary mixture of Caribbean funk with praise and worship, high energy soca,
alternative gospel, reggae, dancehall and hip-hop. Currently the first single release, a
hip-hop track entitled “Imma Holla Jesus” has been creating a great deal of excitement in
the Caribbean, areas of North America and the UK. With “Imma Holla Jesus” Jadee has
proven his prowess at connecting with urban audiences and his ability to bring more energy
to hip-hop than any other Christian artist, drawing from his high energy soca background.
Following the sentiments of this single release the album is set to maintain that same level
of energy, holding many more surprises for both old and new audiences.
